Step 1: Mount the indoor unit. (It is preferable to mount the unit on a perimeter wall of the house).

Step 2: Drill a hole from the interior wall to the exterior for drainage and pipes.

Step 3: Mount the outdoor unit.

Step 4: Run pipes and drain to exterior unit. (A back to back install is preferable, and ensures these pipes and drain run straight down from the hole which has been drilled from the indoor unit).

Step 5: Connect power to the switch board and outdoor unit.
