How long does installation take?
Installation of a new cooktop unit can take anywhere from 1 hour up to 3 hours, depending on what is involved and where it needs to be installed within the kitchen area.
Do I need to get the benchtop cut?
If the cooktop is being installed in a new benchtop, we always recommend getting the benchtop pre-cut by a professional, particularly if it’s stone or marble.
What type of cooktop do you recommend?
- A ceramic cooktop is a great option and often little to no upgrades or modifications are required.
- Induction cook tops are more efficient but may require circuit upgrades or modifications to install.
- Induction cooktops will only work with certain cookware so special care is needed if deciding to upgrade to induction.
Do you need an isolating switch?
Yes. When upgrading hot plates, a wall mounted isolator – usually located on the splash back – is required. Furthermore, any modifications of the circuit will also require upgrade to safety switch protections as of January 1, 2020.
